Really grateful to have secured a job in this Fortune 500 MNC right after graduation.

My current assignment is in the Singapore Well Testing Centre (SWTC) - one of the company's Technology Research centres worldwide under Reservoir Performance business line.

Hustled my way through an unpaid internship to gain experience in this field after graduation, despite getting a full time job offer in an MNC in Aug 2023. Ultimately, I believe that experience counts, and with this experience, I will earn even more $$$ in the future as I plan to do my masters in this field and secure a top notch job overseas with this experience. Pursued a technical internship during the fall & winter period at HomePal Technology - a nascent NUS GRIP deep tech IoT based hardware startup founded by NUS undergraduates that aims to leverage on computer vision and IoT to advance eldercare remote monitoring capabilities.

Worked on an IoT project to be sent for deployment soon under the supervision of the software team lead, where I've taken responsibility to independently manage the project from start to finish (similar to a product owner within a startup) at my own pace.

The main objective is to perform video streaming capabilities to detect hospital injuries via multiple sensors using Raspberry Pi interfacing with laptop servers and advanced Python programming for efficient client-server interaction. Key responsibilities executed:

1. Develop software protocols in advanced Python to enable Raspberry Pi microcontroller interfacing with Windows through client-server interaction for video streaming capabilities.

2. Build and maintain the software architecture and Internet of Things (IoT) pipelines using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and IP network protocol using socket programming in Python, VNC Viewer, SSH & Raspberry Pi programming.

3. Perform software integration, deployment, and user testing through hardware benchmarking - file compression and video editing for rapid deployment.

4. Perform troubleshooting, network and camera testing and debugging of software codes and modifications to improve hardware performance for benchmarking

5. Create comprehensive and detailed documentation of workflow procedures

6. Conduct benchmarking testing of automatic recording of framerate data from camera module to the Raspberry Pi - Improved pi-camera data rate transfer and software code performance by ~20%

Electronics & Hardware Design Engineering Intern, Piezo-Robotics, One-North, Singapore

Pursued a technical summer internship at PiezoRobotics - a deep tech engineering startup at Block 71, the heart of Singapore's startup ecosystem, specialized in advanced manufacturing & smart materials.

Got a great opportunity to independently manage and deliver the startup's internal engineering projects involving Vibration Energy Harvesting & Piezoelectric sensors development for the company's engineering systems and attentuate mechanical vibrations. Key Involvements:

1. Designed analog and digital AC Signal and Charge Amplifier electronic circuits required to power all piezoelectric sensors applications for the startup's internal projects.

2. Performed analog circuit design & simulation on amplifier circuits developed using LTSpice software for signal analysis.

3. Developed schematics & PCB Designs for both analog AC Signal & Charge Amplifier circuits using Autodesk Eagle-CAD & manufactured the PCB used to power the various sensors and actuators necessary for vibration attenuation.

4. Analyzed circuit functionality using Thevenin analysis and troubleshooted the PCB developed for the smart piezoelectric material to accurately meet technical specifications through component verifications and manufacturing requirements.

5. Conducted measurements & hardware testing of PCB (Oscilloscope, Function & Signal Generator) and data acquisition systems (LabJack) for data collection & verify simulation results to meet JLCPCB design specifications.

6. Built a Guided User Interface (GUI) using Arduino-MATLAB Serial Communication using MATLAB & basic C++ microcontroller programming on Arduino IDE to analyze acceleration behaviour of live motion data from accelerometer sensor for piezoelectric sensors in time & fast fourier transform (FFT) analysis.

7. Solved the problem of unforeseen instability of the earlier manufactured AC Amplifier circuit connected to a live piezoelectronic sensor circuit in 2 weeks, within the stipulated deadline while meeting design specifications.

NUS Mars Rover Team 2021 & 2022, Electrical & Chassis Team Engineer

Selected out of a competitive pool of 50 candidates to work in the Chassis division of the NUS Rover Team 2021 as a design engineer, as part of the University Rover Challenge.

The University Rover Challenge (URC) is the world's premier robotics competition for college students worldwide, with majority of participants from top universities in the USA, Europe and Asia. Held annually in the desert of southern Utah in the United States, the URC challenges student teams to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers that will one day work alongside astronauts exploring the Red Planet.

• Main Responsibilities:

1. Performed soldering of electrical wiring on the motors to ensure integrity of the chassis structure.

2. Performed heat shrinking to secure all loose electrical wiring connections of the chassis to ensure structure stability.

3. Develop schematics of various electrical components from different subteams on LTSpice.

4. Perform power calculations of different electronic components of 5 different subteams from datasheet specifications to ensure proper integrity of electrical connections of the rover.

5. Analyzed motor specifications for rover operations on Mars for 48 hrs which helped boost mobility rate by 30% and reduce electrical power requirements by 25% through extensve analysis of technical reports.

6. Calculated overall power requirements of the rover by quantifying the electrical power requirements of 5 subsystems with 80% accuracy to streamline rover operations with reference to datasheet specifications.

7. Determined appropriate battery sizing using circuit design on TinkerCAD based on calculated power requirements to optimize it's electrical wiring and thermal systems design so that unforeseen dangers such as current surge can be minimized.

8. Collaborated with 10 other members from the science team in generating a 500 word analytical reports for the overall electrical and heating system for the rover through inference of engineering datasheets containing vital electrical specifications.

9. Designed appropriate scientific instruments using Computer Aided Design (CAD) to analyze soil composition on Mars with 90% accuracy and increased operational efficiency of instruments by 20%.

Financial Transistor was an online media startup company (similar to Morning Wrap) based in Pune, India, where we aimed to deliver the latest STEM and Business content to people worldwide on a range of topics - from Finance to Industry 4.0.

My work roles involved day to day collaboration with the Co-Founders in managing the business aspects of the company's operations which involved the following tasks:

1. Streamlined backend operations, from email marketing using SendInBlue to content creation to ensure effective execution of various business operations such as onboarding members and performance management using Microsoft -To-Do Task Manager to monitor daily activities.

2. Developed suitable operations based SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) workflows (flowchart creation) using Visme Charts to monitor, improve and track performance in newsletter content creation in key metrics such as recruitment procedures and newsletter publishing dates.

Underwent training within the Industrialization And Process Engineering Department in Symrise AG, a German chemicals MNC. The department's main aim is to optimize process efficiency in the company's manufacturing units to boost production of industrial spray dried products for it's B2B customers such as Nestlé and Pepsico.

From my internship experience, I could gain an appreciation of the various electrical and mechanical systems involved in the manufacturing industry, especially in chemical process engineering - acquainted with induction motors, servo motors, transformers and power systems with their functionalities in this sector.

Understood spray drying technology and basic principles of reactor design in chemical plants involved in mass manufacturing of consumer products for other chemical MNC's in Singapore.

I could better experience life as an Engineer on the shop floor where I helped optimize chemical reactor performance within Symrise's main manufacturing unit by controlling important parameters such as temperature, and conducted extensive quality control testing on it's consumer products (caking, segregation) to ensure proper compliance within industry standards.

1. Overseas training exercise in Brunei - 2 weeks (27/11/18 - 16/12/18): Provided medical coverage for an entire company of 300 soldiers for 2 major exercises which lasted for a week each.

2. Ambulance medic for Singapore National Day Parade (Cover Medic) - April To June 2019: Responsible for providing medical coverage for >1000 people who attended the Singapore National Day Parade celebrations in June 2019

3. Cover medic for Army Training Evaluation Centre (ATECH Phase 1 For 4th Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment) - 3/5/19: Responsible for providing medical coverage for 200 soldiers in ATECH - an important infantry evaluation exercise held on a yearly basis.

Safety In Charge for Battalion Casualty Station Deployment For 4SIR Infantry Battalion Objective Standards - Mar 2019: In charge of overall safety deployment operations of the medical platoon battalion casualty station for my infantry unit of 500 soldiers - the main medical department which forms a critical component of our infantry missions.
